In the setting it takes place in the 1900ds in America judging by their accents. It takes place in a large town to start where their parents house has burnt down. Then the important places are Count Olaf's house Uncle Monty's house and Aunt Josephine's house as these are all important places for the kids to be because lots of things to do with the story actually happen in these places. Their parents house is also important because it tells us their history. The setting in this is very big on helping us with symbols and understanding the character.
Setting
is important because…
It helps convey theme example: it is old fashioned setting and in that time kids were not
respected or listened to as much as they are now days.
It reveals character example: Count Olaf’s house is dark and creepy lots like his personality so the setting matches the person linked to it or most important at he time.
It is important to the plot example: The symbol of the eye is everywhere in his house this tells us it has a meaning go the plot or it is important in some way.
